Brand New high performance COMPLETE 'Ready to Run' electronic distributor kit, this kit is for your Small Block Ford 351W V8 engines and is perfect to upgrade over the out-dated points distributor. Also, it's a nice replacement for a big bulky HEI distributors.
These 'Ready to Run' distributors require only an external coil (included) and you're ready to go. Distributors feature a maintenance free magnetic pickup to accurately trigger the ignition which increased the output of the internal ignition which is easily outperforms stock ignitions with a smooth out engine idle, improve starting, and provide a much higher RPM range. Also, a vacuum advance canister is to help improve economy, that are very high quality and reliable distributors. Plus, the small cap allows them to be used in most applications, even those where space is limited.
The coil included in this kit is a high performance E-core coil which provides 70% more spark that stock coils and is much more reliable. An idea on what coils are used for, is for most street, strip, circle track, and drag racing applications. Internally this coil has large gauge wire windings for maximum current and voltage with better heat dissipation at the higher RPM's.
This kit is a Ready to Run setup which includes the distributor and coil.
